The STM32 Summit is committed to empowering ST’s global developer community, and this event highlighted the latest innovations in ST’s microcontroller and ecosystem portfolio. This global event is hosted by different regions and this edition is brought from India, a dynamic hub for ST’s R&D for over 30 years.

You can watch the whole event here, but we wanted to share with you some of the highlights:

• Launch of a high-performance microcontroller, STM32V8. The STM32V8 is the world’s first microcontroller built on the most advanced 18nm process technology, featuring embedded Phase Change Memory (PCM) and a powerful Cortex®-M85 core. It features the smallest Non-Volatile Memory cell on the market. The FD-SOI CMOS process technology developed with Samsung Foundry enables a cost-competitive leap in performance and power consumption while providing outstanding reliability to sustain harsh industrial environments and robustness against ionizing particles for space applications.
• Launch of a wireless microcontroller, STM32WL3R, a version of our STM32WL3 tailored for remote control applications. The STM32WL3 is a sub-GHz wireless microcontroller with an ultra-low-power radio widely used in metering applications, asset tracking, and more.
• Enriched tools to accelerate productivity for our community of +1 million developers. We are introducing STM32 Sidekick, an AI-powered tool integrated into the ST Community platform, trained exclusively on official STM32 documentation, datasheets, wikis, and application notes. This will help engineers quickly find relevant technical information, get concise summaries of complex topics, and discover documentation they might not have known existed.
• And our expanded STM32 AI Model Zoo now has over 140 ready-made models for vision, audio, and sensing AI applications at the edge. It is the largest MCU-optimized model zoo library of its kind, supporting over 160,000 projects annually.
• Start of mass production in China. In May we announced our dual supply chain strategy for STM32 products in 40nm with the introduction of a fully end to end in-China manufacturing capabilities for customers. We confirmed that we are on track with our partner HHGrace to start mass production deliveries this quarter and customers will soon receive the first STM32 fully made in China with 100% compatibility and the same level of quality as STM32 products ST produces elsewhere in the world. This will help accelerate STM32 adoption in China even further, even faster.
• Real-world applications and customer success stories. The summit highlighted the impact of STM32 innovations across industries:
• SpaceX adopted STM32V8 for a new mini laser system, enabling high-speed data links (25 Gbps over 4,000 km) for Starlink, leveraging the MCU’s performance and robustness in high-radiation environments.
• Aratek Innovation, a leader in biometric technology for personal IDs and access cards in India, uses STM32 solutions to secure critical government applications.
• Calumino uses a proprietary edge AI technology powered by STM32N6 to transform thermal sensing.
• Panasonic Cycle Technology uses edge AI to create a virtual sensor for smart tire pressure monitoring (learn more here).
• Somfy worked with ST to design the new STM32WL3R MCU into their next-generation remotes, leveraging ST’s low-power wireless knowhow and silicon-integration capabilities to achieve a single-chip solution.
• Psicontrol utilizes STM32 graphics software, TouchGFX, in their designs for advanced user interfaces.

These developments demonstrate the growth of the STM32 platform and its essential role in the edge AI, industrial and consumer applications. And we’re leading the way to create the greatest impact for all.
